TRANSPLANTING HYDRANGEAS IN THE FALL should be on your “to do” list if your hydrangeas are in the wrong place and you are in the Northern Hemisphere. Now is the time to transplant them.

But before we get to that, I wanted to let you know that my most recent hydrangea book, HYDRANGEA PRUNING: WHAT STAYS, WHAT GOES, AND WHEN, has received 2 awards (so far). 

It was a finalist in the 2026 Reader’s Favorite International Book Awards (non-fiction/home and crafts).

It was also awarded the Bronze Medal from the International Global Book Awards (Education and Reference).

UPCOMING PUBLIC SPEAKING DATES

Although the season is winding down, I still have some public commitments in the 4th quarter.

The next one is at the New England Fall Flower Show at Elm Bank in Wellesley, Massachusetts. I’ll be at the Connecticut Gardener table all 3 days of the show from Thursday, September 18, through Sunday, September 20, with signed books available for sale. 

The second date is one with the Cape Cod Hydrangea Society on September 26. It’s their fall meeting, which will be held at the Harwich Community Center, 100 Oak Street, Harwich, MA. The start time is 10 a.m. They are a very friendly group and welcome non-members.

Stop by and bring your friends to either or both of these events. I would love to meet you.
